Following in the footsteps and sizable shadow of Hume, who thoroughly enjoyed eating, drinking, and cooking, and who, around 1770, found his surroundings "very chearful, and even elegant, but too small to display my great Talent for Cookery, the Science to which I intend to addict the remaining Years of my Life," we are philosophy students who enjoy both reading Descartes and ordering à la carte. We search for truth, but also for the best of all possible curry recipes, and we everywhere come across the dear sel. We are interested in fact, fiction and fromage. (I don't know why I'm lapsing into French.)
Anyway, this is is a blog for sharing recipes, started by friends in the Philosophy Department at MIT. We place particular value on recipes that possess the virtue of simplicity, though we have, as yet, no satisfying explanation as to why. If you'd like to contribute, please send an email to culinaryinvestigations@gmail.com.
